A Double Celebration at Windsor Plaza Hotel

To celebrate both Vietnam National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival, Windsor Plaza hotel will be hosting a very special event featuring a live performance from legendary Hong Kong singer Johnny Yip on 30 and 31 August.

At the hotel’s Jade Ballroom, guests will also be treated to a sumptuous seven-course dinner of traditional Chinese cuisine, or can opt for the seven-course vegetarian banquet.

Some of the mouth-watering dishes on offer include deep-fried shrimp dumplings, BBQ pork and spicy jelly fish; fish maw and sea cucumber with oyster sauce; fried rice with seafood and pineapple Thai style; double-boiled matsutake and bamboo mushrooms; and double-boiled bird’s nest. Both menus will also feature a selection of Mid-Autumn Festival mooncakes.

Johnny Yip has been a star in the entertainment industry since the 1970s. He has lent his voice to many iconic songs featured in film and television soundtracks. He is probably best known for the songs ‘People from Chaozhou’ (1997) and ‘People from Guangzhou’ (1998) from the films of the same names. He will be supported on the evening by another Hong Kong singer Simon Au and Vietnamese singer Dan Truong, well-known for Chinese music-Vietnamese lyric songs.

Windsor Plaza Hotel General Manager Mr. Adwin Chong said for many people in Hong Kong, Johnny Yip was unquestionably the voice of their generation. “I am personally a big fan, as are so many, so this is really the chance of a lifetime for people here to see a legend in action,” he said.

Standard tickets for the event are just 1,980,000, while VIP tickets are priced at 2,480,000. Discounts of up to 20% are also available for group purchases and for WMC Prestige members. Seats are strictly limited, so advance booking is recommended.
