In honor of International Pineapple Day on June 1, Windsor Plaza Hotel, a member of the Connect collection of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, and Sherwood Suites, a member of its Lifestyle and Residence collection, will be joining other independent member hotels from around the world for a week-long celebration of the pineapple as the emblem of hospitality.

From Saturday, June 1 to Sunday, June 9, hotel guests and locals alike will be welcomed to the two hotels to enjoy original, limited-time only pineapple cocktails and sweets inspired by the legacy of the pineapple.

At Windsor Plaza Hotel, the cocktail “Pina China Town” will be served at its Top Of The Town Bar & Restaurant.

At Sherwood Suites, the cocktail “Miss Saigon”, the mocktail “Pineapple Cobbler”, the desserts “Pineapple Cake” and “Pineapple Creambrulle” will be on offer at the hotel’s Le Café Restaurant & Bar and Pool Bar.

Over 500 years ago, when sailors searched for places to rest in port towns following their journeys at sea, they were able to identify friendly local residents that would welcome them in by the pineapples hung at the entrances of their homes.
